The first of the Selene 92 "Ocean Explorer" Series is now under construction. The hull has been successfully released in July 2012 and the yacht is due to be delivered in the coming months.
Designed by Howard Chen in collaboration with the renowned Dutch architect Guido de Groot, the Selene 92 "Ocean Explorer" will have a displacement hull and will feature a raised pilothouse, a Portuguese bridge and a bulbous bow, like some others of the Selene family. The large side windows in the hull and stainless steel anchor pockets will contribute to give her a more contemporary look.
Guido de Groot said, "We have combined style, functionality and strength in one coherent design".
She will be a fuel efficient and seaworthy long range yacht with a top speed of 13 knots and a cruising speed of 10 knots.
